Body Mass Index
You can calculate your body mass index, or BMI to find out
if your weight is within the recommended range (according to
NIH guidelines). Use the following table to interpret your
body mass index results:
Your BMI:
| Less than 20 |
underweight |
| 20-25 |
normal |
| 25-30 |
overweight |
| 30-35 |
obese |
* Ideal body weight cannot be determined by BMI alone. Body
composition may be a better way of determining ideal body
weight.
