What should you look for in a Massage Therapist?
Finding a qualified massage therapist is very important
because you are important. Ask your massage therapist
about his or her credentials. And remember, each massage
and bodywork modality requires specialized training.
AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) which requires
members meet education standards, recommends asking
the following questions:
- Did you graduate from a program accredited
by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA)
or from an AMTA member school?
North Shore Family Energetics
educators and employees graduated from The Chicago School
of Massage Therapy. CSMT is COMTA accredited and AMTA
approved. The highest level of massage education.
- Are you licensed or registered as a massage
therapist in this state?
All NS Family Energetics practitioners are licensed
in Illinois. (Illinois licensing is required to
practice massage therapy in Illinois)
- Are you a member of AMTA?
Margie has been
a member of AMTA since graduation. All NS Family Energetics
employees are insured.
- Are you certified by the National Certification
Board of Therapeutic Massage and
Bodywork?
Margie is NCTMB since graduation. National
Certification requires the practitioner take an extensive
exam to use NCTMB after their name.
- Do you have training in any specific massage
modalities?
North Shore Family Energetics has practitioners
in PaRama Bodytalk, PaRama Breakthrough, Neuromuscular
(Trigger Point) Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial
Release, Advanced Pregnancy Massage, Aryvedic Massage,
